Playtech has entered a research partnership with West Virginia University that will focus on analyzing player behavior and strengthening responsible gambling efforts in the state. The agreement links the company’s BetBuddy technology with the university’s Center for Gaming Research and Development, creating a framework for academic study supported by real-world wagering data.
The initiative centers on data collected through WVU’s exclusive relationship with the West Virginia Lottery Commission. That arrangement allows the university’s research center to review anonymized information about player activity and betting patterns across the state. By incorporating BetBuddy, Playtech’s responsible gambling analytics platform, researchers will be able to conduct deeper evaluations and draw conclusions based on detailed behavioral insights.
